Descaling valves are used to remove scale from slabs prior to the rolling process. To this end, the descaling valve is opened, and the impulse of the pressurized water breaks through the scale on the slab surface.
The line between the valve and the spray rod is filled with low pressure fill to start and avoid hammering in the line. Valve opening and closing times are adjustable to avoid hammering.
The valve can be operated pneumatically/hydraulically or using its own medium. Descaling valve adopts spool and seat technology.
