The differential pressure monitor compares the pressure in the two chambers and switches the direction control valve if the pressure exceeds or falls below a preset value.
If the pressure difference to be monitored returns to the normal range, the monitor switches back again.
For example, if the differential pressure is too high/low, they can be used to monitor contamination on filters or fittings to monitor travel.
