 Rangefinder or range finder is a common application of laser technology. These laser sensors use lasers (pulsed or continuously modulated) to measure geometric distance, height, length, material level, and position in a non-contact process. To achieve this goal, all components work together in a perfectly coordinated overall system. The system consists of a laser, a transmitting and receiving optical element, a sensitive photodiode, a complex electronic device and a time or phase measurement algorithm.
