Oil diffusion pumps produce a high vacuum and operate as a fast flowing pump fluid stream in the form of vapor (oil vapor). All fluid entrain pumps have a similar pumping mechanism, in which the pumping fluid is heated by an electric heater container and the oil vapor expands after passing through a jet stack nozzle. The pumped gas molecules diffuse into the vapor stream and leave the pumping chamber.
