In order to use Seebeck effect to measure temperature, thermocouples have been developed. Two types of me
tal are connected, one for the hot end co
ntact and the other for the reference end co
ntact (output terminal side). If the temperatures of the two * are made different, a thermoelectric motive force with a co
nstant relatio
nship to the temperature difference is produced. Here, if you hold the reference end at a co
nstant temperature, you will know the temperature of the hot end.
A thermocouple is a sensor that incorporates this principle. It is a good sensor among all contact temperature sensors and can be measured in the high temperature range.
