The synchronous servo motor is a brushless three-phase motor conforming to DIN 42950. The rotor is made of permanent magnets. This high quality NdFeb magnetic material makes the dynamic characteristics of the motor outstanding. A three-phase winding is arranged in the stator, which is supplied by a servo driver. The motor reverses electronically on the servo drive.
Temperature sensors in the stator windings are output with corresponding signals to monitor coil temperature through passive (disconnected) contacts. The motor is generally equipped with an integrated rotary transformer for feedback (optional single or multi-turn value encoder). After analyzing the feedback signal, the servo driver feeds the sine wave current to the motor.
Power transmission is achieved through a cylindrical shaft with tight threads at the end (optional with guide keyway), conforming to DIN 748 standards. The material of the motor edge is F, conforming to DIN 57530, and the vibration is N, conforming to DIN ISO 2373. The protection of the motor is IP 65/64. If the shaft seal ring is used, the guard etc. can be upgraded to IP 65/65.
The low inertia servo motors in the Beckhoff AM3000 series are based on new materials and manufacturing techniques for high dynamic response motion control. Most motors are developed to produce more torque by being as compact as possible. The difficulty lies in the fact that the load of the motor has not been reduced correspondingly - on the contrary, the load of the new model has been increasing. An increase in the load to motor inertia ratio has a negative effect on the control performance - the mechanical system becomes unstable. The inertia ratio can be optimized by appropriate adjustment. However, this reduces the maximum possible speed, which means that in many applications, the required speed is not achieved and larger motors and controllers have to be used. In order to avoid the resulting high cost, need to use the AM3500 series motor.
The servo motor AM2000 is equipped with bent connectors for power and feedback signals. The AM3000 is equipped with a continuously rotating type connector. The Beckhoff offers a rotary transformer, encoder, and power cord as built-up accessories.
In addition, the AG2xxx planetary gear reducer is provided as an accessory to the AM2xxx and AM3xxx servomotor.
