As a fast and open bus system, PROFIBUS is widely used in the field of automation control. It complies with international standards (IEC 61158 and EN50170) and can be divided into three parts.
PROFIBUS FMS (Field Bus Message specification), used for communication between controllers. The Beckhoff BK3000 and BK3100 bus couplers (guard such as IP 20) support the FMS protocol.
PROFIBUS PA (Process Automation) is based on the intrinsic security physical layer and is mainly used for process automation.
PROFIBUS DP (Distributed I/O) is used for high-speed data exchange at the sensor/actuator layer.
PROFIBUS Fieldbus terminal box series supports PROFIBUS DP. Central control devices (such as industrial PCS or PLCS) can communicate with distributed input or output devices through this fast fieldbus, exchanging data mainly in a circular manner, although the non-circular service protocol (DP V1) can also be used for parameter setting and diagnosis.
PROFIBUS DP has the characteristics of high-speed data transmission: large transmission rate up to 12 Mbaud, in order to exchange 512 bits of input and 512 bits of output with 32 bus devices, the transmission time is less than 2 ms, very suitable for the need for fast response system.
Beckhoff PROFIBUS devices are manufactured in strict accordance with the protocol and comply with the PNO (PROFIBUS User Organization) certification. PROFIBUS DP field bus terminal box is available in a variety of models, you can choose the standard type (B/C310), or you can choose the integrated T-connector bus terminal box (B/C318), so that the fieldbus wiring work is easier. The T-connector has been replaced by an M12 field bus input/output to make the wiring more compact. Bus plugs are available in both vertical and angular types, and can be prefabricated or on-site assembled.
