A heater with a heat sink consists of a highly compressed magnesium oxide (MgO) base layer that efficiently conducts heat from the nichcr element wire to the sheath. Two inch (51 mm) aluminized steel fins are connected in a way that maximizes surface contact, allowing faster transfer of heat to the air. This fin structure maximizes the low jacket temperature and extends the service life of the element.
